Allison Wilkes September 22, 2018 Professor Chung IA01 Social Entrepreneurship: The Case for Definition I chose an article written by the Stanford Social Innovation Review. This article focused on what it meant to be a “social entrepreneur” and the distinctions to be made between being a social entrepreneur, social activist, social service providers and just an entrepreneur. This article broke down what it means to be an entrepreneur, much like the book did in the chapter two reading. The article talks about the characteristics that make a person and entrepreneur and how they become successful in their tactics. The article lists opportunity sensing, out-of-the-box thinking, and determination as the three main characteristics that are required in an entrepreneur. Allison Wilkes November 7, 2018 Professor Chung IA04 I attended the Penn State AMA Regional Conference on Friday, October 19th, 2018. I attended this event with the Chatham Marketing Association. The event's theme was Marketing for the Future: Artificial Intelligence. ( https://www.wearepsama.com/psama/ ) There we listened to three speakers: Matt Petitjean: Industry Leader with Google ( https://www.linkedin.com/in/mattpetitjean/ ), Jennifer Thorpe: Operations Director from Jellyfish ( https://www.linkedin.com/in/jennifer-thorpe-6402526/ ), David Yorke: CEO from Umpires Media. Matt Petitjean is the industry leader for Google. He was talking about the theme of the conference, artificial intelligence. He was talking about how artificial intelligence is changing the world and all the advancements it has brought on. Allison Wilkes  November 8, 2018 Professor Chung IA05: Reflect on a guest lecture Reflect on a Guest Lecture Sandra Taylor   Sandra Taylor was the former Senior Vice President of Corporate Responsibility for Starbucks for five years. She now works here at Chatham she is a Falk School of Business professor specializing in teaching Socially Responsible Business. Dr. Taylor’s lecture circulated around talking about Business in the Global Environment. Dr. Taylor is passionate about and an advocate for corporate responsibility and environmentally sustainable business practices, both globally and locally. I chose Dr. Taylor’s lecture because it directly correlates to what I wish to study in college.
